The adapter is installed and the XP mode says is is attached. I am using auto cad to plot to an HP plotter by serial port. I don't have a serial port on my win7 64 bit machine running XP mode. When I try to plot with the plotter set to an HP plotter the port selection isn't there for the serial adapter.

But if I plot to my local usb printer it does which is only letter size. How do I find this port? I also have it installed in win7 and it shows up as com 4 in device manager. In XP it doesn't show up as a com port But there are two Virtual usb drivers. After much reading I understand there re only two usb ports in Virtual mode, I assume that is why my device manager shows two Virtual usb drivers. Any way is there a way to get my plotter connected? Futher investigating this I find my printer is USB01 Virtual printer port in the port listing for my printer in XP mode How can I get a port listing for my plotter?

I have read the link but the action button on my XP mode screen only has restart and close. I have never had a default screen like the article shows. My screen is totally blue with small task bar at the top with a pin icon, action, which I have already described, a usb tab which shows the serial adapter, a USB wan, an unidentified device, and two shared disk drives. All attached not sure what the unidentified device is. Then the CTRL ALT DEL. I dont know how to get to the default screen as the article shows.

I have not gotten results from the device support to any avail. I know the adapter works as I can plot to my plotter with Auto Cad in XP on my laptop using the adapter. I tried plotting by releasing the unidentified usb device so there would only be two USB devices as the two disk drives are shared. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Excuse me I inadvertently marked it as answered Lmroberts.

For years now I've been using an old version of Casmate pro ( over 12 years old ) and its for MAC, I have an old g3. Although my setup is old it still works fine, however i would like to upgrade or have a contingency plan setup for when something goes wrong. Also i have real problems switching formats and transferring to and fro from pc to mac.
