I believe none of the evils in society can be fully attributed to gangsta rap. I do believe though that the youth today is heavily influenced by gangsta rap. You can try to justify the lyrics of gangsta rap all you want, but the fact of the matter is that those lyrics glorify gangbanging, drug dealing, robbery, etc. And there's really no way around it. I don't know about you but I believe anybody who kills and robs innocent people belongs in jail and not on a record making millions off of it.

What I don't get is why do people listen to rap that's the same fake bullshit about guns and crack when there are so many great rap artists out there that don't feel the need to prove their manhood by rapping about criminal stuff? Ever listened to a Lupe Fiasco track? Look up Lupe Fiasco's 'The Coolest' on this website and read the comments discussing THE MEANING of the song (yes, that song actually has a meaning). Check out the great wordplay and metaphors, and compare that song to your average Ice Cube song (Ice Cube is just an example, I have nothing against him is specific.) Doesn't Ice Cube look retarded by comparison? Where is his lyricism?
